The United States and Canada recall the Chinese-made European plug

August 8, 2017, the US Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC), the Canadian Ministry of Health and NVIDIA Corp. jointly announced a voluntary recall of Chinese-made plugs.
The recalled products are European plugs for power adapters, including "NVIDIA SHIELD" branded universal charger kits and NVIDIA SHIELD tablets and televisions for use in Europe. European plugs for two fine round metal tips, embedded in a black plastic floor on a black plastic hexagonal extension. The black plastic floor is connected to the power adapter. The side of the power adapter engraves its model SPA011AU5W2 and NVIDIA and logo. The World Charger Kit comes with six different plugs. This time only recall the European-style plug.
The recalled products sold about 6,900 pieces (another 360 sold in Canada) from October 2015 to June 2017 at NVIDIA.com, Amazon.com, BestBuy.com and NewEgg.com. Priced at about $ 30. The reason for the recall is that the plug may break and expose the metal tip, posing a risk of electric shock. Up to now, the US Consumer Safety Commission has not yet received any reports of incident and personal injury reports related to the product. NVIDIA received nine reports of broken European-style plugs from outside the United States, six of whom were shocked.
The US Consumer Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends that consumers immediately stop using the recalled product and contact the NVIDIA for replacement.
